Dancing in the Flames RP | Review

First Impression;

Looking at the URL, I expected some crazy club-based roleplay. I was proven completely wrong, instead the colors of the roleplay page make me believe it’s a lot less toned down than being a party-based RP.

Appearance;

I absolutely love baudelaired’s themes, so you definitely get a few points there. The colors seem a little too pastel for my liking. Don’t get me wrong, though, it’s very aesthetically pleasing, but just not fully for me. One thing that does sort of bother me is the way the sidebar text fades in and out. For me, this adds to the being “too pastel” problem. I’d rather much have it be normal and not have the fading transition. I did have a problem finding the “navigate” link at the bottom, I was looking for it in the main links that the theme comes with. I’d suggest possibly changing the “navigate” link for the “info” link.

Characters (Bio’s and FC’s);

Biographies

I like how you put the D.O.B of the character, as that’s something I personally don’t see very much, and the OOC information. The bio’s are long, much to my liking, and are still semi-interesting to keep your attention as you read through the paragraphs. There’s no grammar or spelling errors (that I can see) and it seems like you have your characters well planned out.

FC’s

By the bio’s posted and the face claim list, it looks like you’re well on your way to using a lot of overused FC’s as characters. It’ll attract more attention as overused face claims always do, but it won’t be as pleasing to other roleplayers.

Plot;

Your plot doesn’t seem that interesting to me. The death plot is horribly overdone and unoriginal. To me, it looks like this roleplay is only about living in an area that’s supposedly perfect, but there were two murders. I’d consider revising it and making the plot more interesting to roleplayers.

Overall Impression;

6/10

I believe this roleplay has potential! It just needs a little something more to make it amazing.

Midnight in Paris RP | Review

First Impression;

I’m on the first page right now and this roleplay already looks quite flawless. I won’t judge too quickly, though, as judging too quickly always leads to bad things, but yeah. It looks flawless.

Appearance;

The theme is nice, to say the least. I had a problem finding the links to the characters and the follow list, etc., but I did eventually find it in the end. I think my favorite part of this page is the banner. Paris has always been one of those places I plan on visiting and the banner only makes me want to visit it even more. It looks truly beautiful and also shows that you know how to use photoshop.

Characters (Bio’s and FC’s);

Biographies

The biographies are great, in my opinion. The connections are helpful and likely to be seen in most roleplays. The only thing I would suggest is if someone is an ex-lover of another character, maybe give a little background on how they met and ended up not being together? It might be a bit out of place in the background, but it’s only a suggestion. Otherwise, the biographies are well-written.

FC’s

Again, most FC’s seem to be overused and the other half are underused. The thing I’m a pit nit-picky about is that the graphics for the bio’s seem to change every other character. I’d keep them all consistent.

Plot;

So, this is a love RP? The plot interests me and seems to have answered any questions I might have had previously. It sounds simple enough, have your character find their true love and they’ll get to spend the rest of their lives together.

Overall Impression;

8.5/10

Highly considering joining as the Robert Sheehan FC, just saying.

Expect it soon. I have a few other reviews to do first. :3

I’ve been completely slacking.

And I think it’s much overdue for the reviews and gif hunts that are supposed to be posted.

Time to get back into the groove of things.

Peace or War | Review

First Impression;

The URL is very clear and straightforward, I definitely know that it’s going to be two (or more) opposing forces battling each other for something and the banner confirms that.

Appearance;

Again! One of my definite favorite themes for a roleplay! The colors are very dark, except for the grey-ish white text on the side and the link color. The red text against the black background can be a little harsh on the eyes, but it’s not too extreme to the point where it’s impossible to look at. Otherwise, the graphics look nice, but the photos that show the FC of the character before the bio are a little blurry. Although, I know how Tumblr can ruin the quality of some pictures after they’ve been uploading, so I won’t let it bother me too much.

Characters (Bio’s, FC’s, etc.);

Biographies

The bio’s are long and descriptive. Some people might be convinced to skip the bio because of it’s length and some people might love it because it gives a good feel of the character’s past and what their behavior is like. It could go either way really, and leave people wanting to join or people moving onto the next roleplay in the tags. I do like that you included additional info about the characters and the other characters that you recommend that the roleplayer interested should read about. The recommended bio’s to read aren’t something you see every day in a roleplay and it’s very nice.

FC’s

The FC’s are a nice mixture of overused and underused. Not much else to say about them, just that I like them.

P.S. “Kaya Scoldawhatsherface FC” made me laugh.

Plot;

The plot is simple and has one goal, and that’s to achieve peace between the Races, or for the Huntsmen it is. It’s easy to keep straight in the head and not too complicated. I would like to know what the goal is for the Races, what do they want out of it?

Overall Impression;

8.5/10

I’ll definitely be keeping my eye on this RP!

Anonymous asked: "Any tips on not getting out of character when your character is from a film, book or television series? I subconsciously tend to do this. Oddly enough less during paras (still might be a little off) and more during "gif-talk". Help?"

I’d suggest maybe re-watching/reading the film/book/television series your character is from. It might give you a better feel of the character and their behavior or interaction with other characters.
